FUNdraising

FUNdraising is unique to everyone, whether it’s in memory of a loved one, or to set yourself a challenge. It is more than just raising money, it gives people a focus, motivation and feeling of pride and accomplishment.

We love our fundraisers, not because of the monies, but because we LOVE hearing about individual journeys and the personal impact of our charity. We get so excited for each and every one of you – cheering you on and sharing your journey with our community.

So, get involved… for lots of reasons 😊.

FUNdraising Ideas

Remember, fundraising doesn’t have to be an impossible task. It can (& should be) FUN. It can be a challenge, or it can be something more social and creative… here are some of our top ideas:

Events

  • Bake sale
  • Quiz night
  • Singing/Choir night
  • In memory of a loved one (special birthdays, or anniversaries).

Challenges

  • Sponsored silence (yes you chatters out there!)
  • Knit-A-Thon (can you knit for hours)? Other hobbies welcome!
  • Growing a moustache
  • Shaving your head
  • Waxing your bod (hairy peeps)?

Something More Active

  • Run Forest Run (from 5k to 50k, whatever is your challenge)
  • Walking/Cycling/Swimming
  • A month of the above (for 30 days I will…)
  • Jumping out a plane…
  • Trek the Sahara, Great Wall of China or UKs 3 Peaks (see below)

Other organisations to help with your challenge

Did you know that there are lots of organisations out there, that already set up fundraising challenges. You can go through them and pick us as your nominated charity. For example, Charity Challenge– who we did our 50k London Trek through.

We are also registered with Kilt Walk for you Scots out there.

If you come across an organisation like this, let us know – and we can register with them (if we are not already).

Just Giving

Start your fundraising journey by setting up a Just Giving page. Click on the link below to get started – we are listed as a chosen charity and will be informed when anyone sets up a new page. We can then contact you with some Top Tips and gentle encouragement.

When creating a page, remember to include pictures, and a Bio. The more the cause means to you, the more your friends and family will support you.

Previous FUNdraisers

Let’s hear from our amazing past Fundraisers shall we?

We’ve had choirs, bake sales, raffles, runners, boxers and hula-hoopers! But why? Let’s hear from Paige, who raised £1,335k in memory of her Mum (Completing Tough Mudder):

“Every day is a gift. Love your family and friends deeply because tomorrow is never promised. I’m doing this in loving memory of Laurie Hughes, who I know would be cheering me on at the finish line if she could.”
