BRCA1 Gene Alteration

Age: 27

Implants:  465cc OTM implants.

Surgery details: Preventative double mastectomy, direct-to-implant surgery.

“This picture was taken 2 weeks post prophylactic mastectomy (due to a BRCA1 diagnosis), on the day drains and dressings were removed and I saw my reconstructed chest for the first time.

Due to my age, I spent a while fighting for this procedure and advocating for my mental health, which was drastically deteriorating each day I got closer to 30. On the morning of my surgery, I suddenly realised I had never really considered how I would feel without my breasts. I think upon reflection, I was in such a dark place I almost couldn’t imagine my life without constant health anxiety noise and was unable to see beyond the surgery date.

Turns out life in my ‘no nipples era’ couldn’t be better. I’ve never felt more confident and more me than I have since having preventative surgery. I have no feelings of loss; all I can concentrate on is what I’ve gained and how lucky I am to be in this position.”

We think you will all agree that Alice’s results are AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing x
