We are super excited for tomorrow night's talk with the amazing Dr Claire Macaulay.

How implants change over time...
Anon, BRCA1, aged 40. Preventative Mastectomy with immediate implant reconstruction, under the muscle. (round implants, 375cc). Nipples removed.
“BRCA has taken so much. Lots of family members, my boobs and even my baby making bits but it’s also been a gift. It’s brought some amazing people into my life and I really don’t know how I’d have got through it without them”.
As you can see, reconstructions soften over time. The images at 4 weeks look incredible but it's important to remember that while they may look healed on the outside, there is still a lot of swelling and healing to be done internally.
Be patient with your recovery. Don't be in a rush to return to 'normal'. Time and rest are the best healers.

Age 29. Preventative double mastectomy with 440cc, teardrop implants. Over the muscle. Nipple sparing.

Surgery done in two parts. Initial breast reduction 5 months prior to mastectomy with reconstruction.

Image taken 12 weeks post-op.
.
