Living with a BRCA+ gene alteration can be a challenging path. Yoga can be a powerful way to take control of your wellbeing and support your journey through difficult decisions you might be faced with. Rosie Lux (@DoYourOMThing / doyouromthing.co.uk) is an experienced instructor and has been practicing yoga since she was a child, and she will guide you through yoga practices tailored to suit everybody (most practices will be seated/ with the option to lie on your bed or the floor at the end of the session). Practicing yoga and meditation sitting in a chair allows us to adapt our practice to meet the needs of our body & mind on a given day, fostering strength, courage and wisdom.

2. Connect with a Supportive Community

This workshop is more than just yoga; it’s an opportunity to connect with fellow BRCA+ peeps who understand your journey. Join us to support one another, and build a fun and fabulous BRCA+ community! Yoga is also well known for reducing stress and inflammation, improving sleep quality, and creating a deep and lasting sense of ease in the body. There’s also research to suggest it’s fun!

3. Wellness Tailored for You

Whether you’re a newbie to yoga or an experienced guru, Rosie will guide you through a calming workshop and equip you with useful mindfulness tools to help you along the way.

 

How to Set Up Your Space For a Relaxing Experience

  • Wear comfy clothes that you can move freely in! You want to be able to relax fully without feeling restricted.
  • If you have a yoga mat, or even a clean non-slip rug, pop it on the floor so you have a soft surface. Have a chair nearby too if you’d like, as most of the poses can be practiced while sitting.
  • Find a quiet, peaceful space for the ultimate zen-zone.
